Now, one of the things you might find with a nonL lens from Canon is that you might get a lot more purple fringing and green fringing around the edges of images.
At f1.2 in the middle of the image, sharpness and contrast are okay, but we're seeing a fair bit of purple color fringing.
On my 32 megapixel APS-C camera, as you see here, its purple fringing is pretty strong at f1.2.
