The A7 III is heavier by about 200 grams and admittedly, using both of them, I definitely felt that… I guess it is the price to pay for that SteadyShot stabilisation inside which of course I will test later.
As a crop sensor camera it is also relatively compact and lightweight at 400g (body only) making it ideal for someone shifting from mobile photography.
You can only get away with a lightweight tripod if you use your camera’s self timer or a remote release, and if there’s no wind.
