The shortest privacy policy you'll ever read.
The short version: Your searches stay in your browser. We never see them. We don't track you. We don't build profiles. We don't sell data because we don't collect it. Our review comparison cards are pre-built pages — reading one tells us nothing about you.
Browser-Side AI: When you search, our AI model (DistilBERT) runs entirely in your web browser. Your search terms are processed on your device, not our servers. We literally cannot see what you're searching for.
Product Fetching: When you click search, your browser fetches product pages from retailers through our proxy server. The proxy retrieves the pages but does not log your queries or associate requests with any identifier.
Review Comparison Cards: Our comparison cards are pre-built pages that we generate ahead of time from publicly available reviews and link back to their sources. They're served like any ordinary web page — viewing one is just a normal page request, and it doesn't tell us anything about you or what you were looking for.
No Cookies, No Tracking: We don't use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or fingerprinting. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No third-party trackers.
Our web server maintains standard access logs that include:
These logs are used solely for security and maintaining service availability. They do not contain your search queries and are not shared with third parties.
When you click through to a retailer and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. This is how we sustain the service without selling your data. The retailers know you came from AskMaddi, but they don't know what you searched for here—because we don't either.
When you click through to a retailer (such as Amazon or eBay), you're subject to their privacy policies. We have no control over their data practices.
AskMaddi is a general-purpose product search tool. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
If we change this policy, we'll update this page. But our approach is simple: don't collect data, don't have data problems. That's unlikely to change.
